You Are Not The Error In The Story
The afternoon light is flat and gray, catching the dust on your screen while your thumb hovers over a name that feels like a wound. You are terrified that one more message will finally prove what you have feared all along: that you are the reason they left.
But the light does not run on your performance, and it certainly does not leave because you are afraid. There is a love that is greater than your heart's condemnation, a truth that lives inside you whether you send the text or not.
The silence you feel right now is not an answer; it is just the middle of the day, heavy and long. You are not the error in the story.
You are the light that the darkness could never extinguish, waiting for you to remember that you were never the cause of the leaving.
