You Are the One Who Sees
The afternoon light hits the glass just right, and for a split second, you see the stranger they told you that you were. You flinch.
You look away. But the light does not flinch.
It saw you before you saw the window. It saw you before the first lie was ever spoken.
You are not the reflection that fades when the sun moves. You are the one who is seeing.
The world tries to name you, to box you, to sell you a version of yourself that fits on a shelf. But the truth is quieter.
It is the thing that remains when the glass goes dark. You do not have to fix the image.
You only have to remember who is looking at it.
