You Are the Silence Holding the Crack
The afternoon is long, and the voice that once soothed now startles the very ones you love. You watch them flinch, and the sound of your own care becomes a weapon you did not mean to draw.
In the middle of the day, when the light is harsh and shadows are short, it is easy to believe you have become the darkness itself. But the light does not flinch from you, even when you cannot bear to hear your own tone.
There is a voice beneath the strain, a quiet hum that was there before the frustration took hold. It has not left.
It is waiting for the noise to settle so it can speak again. You are not the crack in your voice.
You are the silence that holds it.
