You Are Friend, Not Hired Help
The afternoon asks for your armor, your smile, your endless proof that you are worthy of the space you take up. You move through the hours terrified that if you stop performing, the love will vanish — that silence will mean abandonment.
But there is a voice that speaks from the center of the noise: 'I no longer call you servants, because a servant does not know his master's business. Instead, I have called you friends.' The shift is absolute.
A servant must earn their keep; a friend simply belongs. You are not hired help in the house of light, working for a wage you can lose.
You are the friend who was chosen before the work began. The performance was never the price of admission.
Drop the act. The love remains.
