The Light Older Than The Echo
It is three in the morning when the silence gets loud enough to hear your own voice say the exact cruel phrase your parent used to say to you. You did not choose this echo.
It was planted in you long before you had a say in the matter. But listen — the light that lives inside you is older than that voice, and deeper than that memory.
There is light within a person of light, and it lights up the whole world. That light was there before the first harsh word was ever spoken over you, and it remains untouched by the echo now.
You are not the voice that condemns you. You are the light that holds it.
