The Light Does Not Require A Steady Voice
It is three in the morning and you are still rehearsing a sentence you will say to a stranger tomorrow. You run the words over and over, convinced that if your voice shakes, they will know the truth: that you are not an adult, that you are pretending, that you are small.
But the light does not require a steady voice to hear you. Jesus saw Nathanael under the fig tree before he ever spoke a word.
He knew him before the introduction. He knows you before the phone rings.
The kingdom is not a club for the composed. Thomas says the kingdom is inside you right now, not waiting for you to grow up.
You do not need to manufacture courage to be held. The light is already in the room, sitting in the dark with you, listening to the rehearsal without judgment.
It is not waiting for a performance. It is waiting for you to stop running and realize you are already home.
