Resting Beside Unbroken Peace
You lie perfectly still, holding your breath so the silence doesn't break. You are afraid that even a small shift of your weight might shatter the fragile peace they have finally found tonight.
But the light does not sleep, and it is not fragile. It watches over them while you rest.
You are not the guardian of their peace; you are simply resting beside it. The darkness has not overcome it.
You can let go now. The light holds the room even when you stop holding yourself.
