The Light Waits in Your Silence
Tonight, the house is quiet enough to hear the echo of a laugh you didn't feel. You smiled in the crowd, but the sound came from your throat, not your chest.
That hollow gap between the noise you made and the stillness you carry is where the light is waiting. It does not demand you perform joy before it will stay.
The true light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it. You do not have to manufacture warmth to be held by the warmth that is already there.
The light is not in the laugh; it is in the silence underneath it. You are not the mask you wore tonight.
You are the light that sees behind it.
