The Light Entered the Cold With You
The water turned cold before you were ready. You stood there, shaking, because the shock came too soon.
You forgot to turn it on until you were already under the stream. This is the bottom.
The moment the warmth vanishes and you are left with nothing but the chill. But listen — the light did not wait for the water to warm.
It entered the cold with you. It is in the shiver.
It is in the steam that has not yet risen. The darkness has not overcome it.
You are not waiting for the heat to arrive. You are the heat.
The light was there before the first drop fell.
