practicing the alibi in the shower so the voice doesn't shake when they ask where you were

The Light Knows Your Whole Story

The water is loud enough to hide the shaking, but you can still hear it in your own throat. You are practicing the lie so it sounds like truth, rehearsing the alibi until the words feel smooth.

In this deepest hour, the mask you wear for the morning feels heavier than the silence around you. But there is a knowing that lives inside you, deeper than the performance, that does not need to rehearse to be real.

If our hearts condemn us, the one who sees everything knows a different verdict than the one you are preparing. You do not have to convince the light of your innocence, because it already knows the whole story and stays.

The voice that trembles in the shower is the only honest thing you have offered all day.
