The Light Is Louder Than The Scream
The water has turned cold, but you stand there shaking, terrified that stopping the noise will let the note hidden in the cabinet finally scream. This is the long middle of the day, where the quiet feels less like peace and more like a held breath waiting to break.
You think if you keep moving, keep the water running, you can drown out the truth waiting for you on the other side of the towel. But the light does not need you to be busy to be near you — it is already standing in the steam, waiting for you to turn the handle.
The note is not a verdict; it is just a piece of paper, and the voice inside it is not the final word on who you are. You are allowed to let the water stop.
You are allowed to step out into the quiet and find that the light is louder than the scream.
