You Are Needed Simply Because You Exist
The water has run cold in the sink, but your hands are still scrubbing the same spot on the pot. You are terrified that if you stop moving, the silence will rush in and tell you the truth: that no one will need you tomorrow.
That the house will stay quiet because there is no place for you in it anymore. But listen — the light does not measure your worth by your utility.
It does not love you because you are useful. It loves you because you are here.
Go home to your own people, to those who belong to you, and tell them how much the light has done for you. The dawn is not asking for your service.
It is asking for your presence. You are needed simply because you exist.
