the paralyzing fear that if you finally rest, the silence will reveal there is nothing substantial underneath all your doing

The Light Waits in Your Silence

The sun is up. The house is quiet.

And for the first time since yesterday ended, the noise stops. This is the moment you fear most — not the chaos, but the silence.

You worry that if you finally sit down, if you stop moving long enough to breathe, you will look inside and find nothing there. Just emptiness.

Just a hollow space where your substance should be. But listen.

The light does not wait for you to be busy to exist. It was there before you started working.

It is there while you rest. There was a man who lay beside a pool for thirty-eight years, convinced he had no value unless he could move, unless he could compete.

The light found him in his stillness and asked: do you want to get well? Then it told him to stand.

The healing did not come from his effort. It came from his willingness to stop lying down and receive what was already offered.

You are not your output. You are not the sum of your tasks.

The substance you are afraid of losing was placed inside you before you did a single thing today. Sit with the silence.

Let it speak. There is something there.

And it is enough.
