rereading your own sent messages searching for the exact moment you became too much

The Light Arrives Before Your Apology

The sun is up now. The gray is turning to gold outside your window.

But you are still inside the dark room of your own history, scrolling back through messages you sent days ago, hunting for the exact sentence where you became too much. You read your own words like evidence in a trial where you are both the accused and the judge.

Convinced that if you can just find the moment you crossed the line, you can fix it. Or at least understand why they walked away.

But the light of this new morning does not shine on your past to expose your failures. It shines to show you that you are still here.

The father in the story didn't wait for the son to edit his apology before running to meet him. He saw him while he was still a long way off.

He ran before the speech began. The light does not analyze your transcript to decide if you are worthy of love.

It simply arrives. The night is over.

The shame that felt so heavy in the dark cannot survive the sunrise. You are not too much for the day that just broke.

You are exactly enough for this moment.
