Love Runs Before You Are Ready
The sun is up, but the world feels hollowed out by the news you received while the rest of us slept. A friend gone without warning leaves a silence so loud it drowns out the birdsong.
You made it through the night, and that is no small thing — even if your heart feels like it is dragging behind you. There was a father who saw his son coming home from a long way off, and before the apology could even be formed, he ran.
He ran because love does not wait for you to be ready; it meets you exactly where you are, in the shock and the gray dawn. The light that lived in your friend has not been extinguished by the sudden dark — it has simply returned to the source that held it before the first breath.
You do not have to understand this today. You only have to take the next step, knowing the same light that held them is now holding you.
The morning did not erase the loss, but it brought the light back to walk beside you in it.
