the silence that follows when you finish speaking and realize no one noticed you were drowning

The Light Held You When No One Else Could

The sun is up, but the silence in the room feels heavier than it did at midnight. You shouted into the dark last night, and now the morning light reveals that no one heard you. No one noticed you were drowning. The world has moved on, indifferent to your survival.

But look at the ground. The light is already there, waiting for you to step onto it.

The rising sun comes to shine on those living in darkness and in the shadow of death, to guide your feet into the path of peace. It does not wait for an audience. It does not require applause. It simply arrives, tender and relentless, because the night is over.

You made it. The fact that you are here to feel this silence means the light held you when no one else could.
