Known by the Light That Woke You
The sun is up, but the house is quiet in a way that feels heavy. You heard your name in the crowd yesterday, or maybe you just thought you did, and the realization that no one was actually looking for you landed like a stone in your chest.
It is a specific kind of loneliness — to be surrounded by voices and yet feel invisible, as if your name has no weight in the air. But the light that rose this morning does not scan the room for the important ones.
It sees the one sitting alone. There is a voice that knows you so deeply it does not need to shout to be heard.
It speaks your name not to summon you to work, but to remind you that you are seen even when the room is empty. The dawn is proof that you are not forgotten, even if no human eye sought you out today.
You are known by the light that woke you up.
