the fear that your silence is actually emptiness rather than fullness

The Light Grows While You Sleep

The sun is up, but the house is still quiet, and you are afraid that your silence means you are empty. That the light has left you while you slept.

But listen — the birds are already singing outside, not because they earned the right to make noise, but because the dawn arrived. The light does not need your voice to prove it is there.

It is already filling the room. You are not a hollow vessel waiting to be filled; you are a branch that has been drinking all night without knowing it.

The sap rises before the leaf unfolds. The growth happens in the dark, while you are still.

Do not mistake the quiet for absence. It is the deep, steady work of the light taking root.

You do not have to speak to be full. You only have to wake up and see that the spring is already welling up inside you.
