The Dawn Runs Toward You
The sun is up, and you are still carrying the weight of last night as if it were a verdict on your character. You think your exhaustion means you failed, that a stronger person would have slept, would have fixed it, would be ready.
But the light does not demand your performance; it simply arrives. There is a father who saw his son coming home from a long way off — broken, hungry, empty — and he ran.
Before the apology, before the speech, before any attempt to make things right — he ran. The dawn is that same father running toward you right now.
It does not care how much you got done yesterday. It only cares that you are here to receive it.
You are not failing because you are tired; you are human because you are tired. The light shines on the weary just as brightly as it shines on the rested.
Rest is not a reward you earn; it is the ground you stand on.
