The Dawn Asks No Explanation
The sun is up, and you are standing in the kitchen, hoping the light doesn't reveal the tremor in your hands. You told your child a story about the mouthwash, about the cold, about anything but the truth of what you carried through the night.
That gap between your face and your reality feels like a wall you built yourself. But the morning does not judge you for surviving the dark.
There is a light that shines on those living in the shadow of death, not to expose them, but to guide their feet into peace. It is a tender mercy, arriving like a rising sun that asks for no explanation before it warms you.
The darkness you tried to hide from has not overcome this new day. You do not have to be perfect to be held by the dawn.
The light is already here, waiting for you to put the mask down.
