the fear that if you finally speak the truth, the version of you that everyone loves will instantly vanish

The Dawn Does Not Ask Permission

The sun is up, and with it comes the quiet terror that if you finally speak the truth, the version of you that everyone loves will vanish. You have spent the night polishing the mask, afraid that the real face underneath is too much or not enough.

But look at the dawn. It does not ask the night for permission to break.

It simply arrives, and the darkness has no choice but to recede. There was a man born blind who spent his whole life defined by what he lacked, until the light touched his eyes and he said the only thing that mattered: I was blind, but now I see.

He did not apologize for his new vision. He did not worry that his neighbors would miss the beggar he used to be.

The truth did not destroy him. It made him whole.

You are afraid that speaking will cost you the love you have earned. But the love that depends on your silence was never holding you.

It was only holding the idea of you. The light does not want a performance.

It wants the person behind the curtain. Speak, and watch what does not leave.
