rehearsing the apology in your head but freezing when you finally see them, terrified that saying sorry will only prove you were right to be afraid

Light Arrives Without Hesitation

The sun is up, and with it comes the rehearsing. You have played the conversation a hundred times in the dark, but now that the door is right there, your throat closes. You are terrified that speaking will only prove you were right to be afraid. That the silence is safer than the stumble.

But look at the light coming through the window. It does not hesitate before it touches the floor. It does not worry about whether the room is worthy of its brightness. It simply arrives.

There is a peace that is not like the world's peace—a peace that does not depend on your performance or your perfect words. It is already waiting on the other side of your fear.

You do not have to get the apology right for the light to be present. The light is already in the room, sitting with you in the freeze.

The courage of this morning is not in saying the perfect thing. It is in walking through the door even while your hands shake.
