grieving a version of yourself that no longer exists

The Light Does Not Mourn Who You Were

The sun is up, and the house is quiet, but the person you were yesterday is gone. You are standing in the light of a new morning, carrying the weight of a self that no longer fits.

It feels like a loss, this shedding of who you thought you'd be. But listen — the light does not mourn the old version.

It only sees the one standing here now. You did not lose the light when you lost that identity.

The light was there before the change, and it is here in this breath. You are not who you were.

You are who you are becoming. And that is enough for today.
