the exhaustion of constantly scanning for threats that might not exist

The War Was Already Won

The sun is setting, and your shoulders finally drop, but your mind is still scanning the room for threats that aren't there. You have spent all day bracing for a blow that never came, guarding a door that was never attacked.

That exhaustion is real — the weight of holding your breath for hours on end. But listen — the darkness gathering outside is not an enemy waiting to get in.

The Father sees you putting the armor down. He knows you are tired of fighting shadows.

The light does not require your vigilance to stay alive. It was there before you noticed the danger, and it remains now that the danger has passed.

You are safe not because you stayed awake, but because the light never slept. Put down the sword.

The war you were fighting was already won.
