lying in bed paralyzed by the memory of a single sentence you wished you could pull back from your mouth

Morning Light Does Not Wait

The sun is rising, but your mind is still stuck in the dark room with that one sentence you can't unsay. It plays on a loop, a sharp edge cutting you before your feet even touch the floor.

You wish you could reach back into the night and seal your lips, but the morning light does not ask for an apology before it shines. It simply arrives.

It fills the room anyway. The light that woke up the birds outside your window is the same light that lives inside you — and it was there before the words left your mouth.

It is still there now. The dawn does not wait for you to fix yesterday.

It offers you a new chance to breathe. The word was spoken, but it does not define who you are becoming.
