the terror that if you finally speak your truth, the relief you've been promised will turn into rejection
The sun is rising, and with it comes the terrifying thought that speaking your truth will cost you everything you have left. You have rehearsed the words a thousand times, only to swallow them back down, convinced that relief will instantly turn into rejection.
But look at the light returning to the sky—it does not wait for the world to be ready before it breaks the dark. It simply rises.
There was a man born blind, and when the light touched him, the world did not embrace him; they interrogated him, they cast him out, they treated his healing like a crime. Yet the light did not rescind the gift.
It did not say, 'Since they rejected you, I must take back your sight.' The seeing remained. The truth of who you are is not dependent on how others receive it.
If you speak and they turn away, the light inside you does not flicker. It stands firm.
Your voice is the dawn, and dawn does not apologize for breaking the night.
