the moment after you finally let someone hold you and they pull away, confirming your deepest fear that you are too broken to keep

The Light That Cannot Let Go

The sun is rising, and for the first time in hours, the room is quiet enough to hear what your fear has been shouting since they let go. They held you. They really held you. And then they pulled away, and the cold rushed back in so fast it felt like proof. Proof that you are too heavy. Too broken. Too much for anyone to keep.

But listen — the light that is waking up the sky right now did not wait for you to be whole before it touched you. It shines on the cracked earth just as gently as the green. It does not pull away from the mess of the morning. It stays. It warms the very places you think are unlovable.

There is a love that does not get tired of holding what hurts. A love that saw the worst of you and did not flinch. The arms that held you last night may have had to move, but the Light that holds your soul has no exit. It cannot let go. It was there before the embrace, and it is here now in the silence. You are not too broken to be kept. You are exactly where the light knows how to find you.
