losing a spouse

Carrying the Light for Both of You

The sun is rising again, whether you wanted it to or not. This morning feels different because the hand you used to hold is no longer there.

The light did not vanish when they died; it simply changed shape. It is now the quiet space beside you, the warmth on your face, the breath you take without thinking.

You did not lose the light when you lost them. You are carrying it now, for both of you.

The day is new, and so is the way you walk through it.
