Speaking Into a Presence Wider Than the Grave
The sun is just beginning to push back the gray, and in that quiet space between sleep and waking, your mind did what it always does. It started a conversation with them.
You heard their voice answering you, clear as daylight, only to feel the floor drop out when you remembered: the chair is empty. There is no one there to hear the words you are still speaking.
That rehearsed dialogue is not a mistake. It is the echo of a love that has nowhere else to go.
But listen — the light does not scold you for talking to the air. In this new morning, the Father sees the person you are addressing, even if your eyes cannot.
The love you are pouring out does not vanish into silence. It is caught.
It is held. The One who called them by name before they were born is listening to every word you say now.
You are not shouting into a void. You are speaking into a presence that is wider than the grave.
The sun rises not to erase the missing, but to show you that you are still held in the same light that holds them.
