Mercy Is The Legacy You Leave
The sun is going down, and with it comes the inventory of the day—the fear that your pain is a inheritance you cannot stop passing on. You look at your children and see the shadow of your own illness stretching toward them, and the guilt feels like a stone in your throat.
But listen: the light that lives inside you did not come from your parents, and it will not be broken by your blood. It came from a place where sickness has no power to copy itself.
There is light within a person of light, and it lights up the whole world. That light is already in them, waiting beneath whatever fear you carry.
You are not the source of their darkness; you are the proof that the light survives the storm. Go home and tell them what the Lord has done for you, and how he has had mercy on you.
The mercy is the legacy. The rest is just noise.
