The Father Runs to Meet You
The sun is coming up, and with it comes the quiet terror that if you finally speak your need, the door will close behind them. You have held your breath all night, convinced that your hunger is too heavy, that your truth is the final straw.
But look at the birds outside your window; they do not earn their morning meal, yet your Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they?
The light does not run from weight; it runs toward the one who carries it. While you were still rehearsing your apology, while you were still afraid to lift your eyes, the Father saw you from a long way off and ran.
He did not wait for you to be fixed. He ran to meet you in the mess.
Your need is not a burden that breaks love; it is the very thing that invites the embrace. You do not have to hold it all together to be held.
