the hollow ache of remembering the last time you chose pride over connection and now cannot recall their voice

When Pride Builds a Wall Between You

The sun has set, and the armor you wore all day finally hits the floor. Now the silence rushes in to take its place.

And in that quiet, you hear the echo of the moment you chose being right over being held. You defended your position.

You won the argument. But now you cannot recall the sound of their voice.

The pride felt like strength then; now it feels like a wall you built with your own hands. The light does not ask you to explain why you built it.

It simply sits with you in the room where the echo is loudest. You are not defined by the silence you created.

The love that existed before the argument is still there, waiting beneath the noise you made. Go gently into this night; the memory of their voice is not gone, it is just waiting for you to stop speaking long enough to hear it again.
