Grace Waits Before You Stand
The sun has dipped below the line, and the armor you wore all day finally feels heavy enough to drop. You are terrified that if you stop performing, if you let the silence settle in this room, everyone will see the cracks and cast you out.
So you keep talking, keep moving, keeping the noise alive to prove you belong. But listen — the light does not require your noise to stay close to you.
When Jesus saw the paralyzed man lowered through the roof, he did not wait for a speech or a promise of better behavior; he saw their faith and said, 'Son, your sins are forgiven.' He spoke before the man could even stand. He spoke before the proof arrived.
The acceptance was already there, waiting under the weight of your fear. You do not have to earn your place at the table by being useful or loud or perfectly put together.
The grace is entirely with you, and it will protect you even when you have nothing left to say. The silence is not the edge of the cliff where you fall off; it is the very ground where you are held.
