The Light She Cannot Forget
The sun has gone down, and the room feels different now. You sit beside the woman who gave you life, but her eyes slide past your face as if you are a stranger in her own home.
It is a specific kind of darkness when the person who knew you first can no longer find you. But listen — the light does not depend on her memory to exist.
It was there before she spoke your name, and it remains when she cannot. Go home to your own people and tell them how much the Lord has done for you, and how he has had mercy on you.
Her forgetting cannot undo the knowing that lives inside you. The light sees you even when she cannot.
