The Light Holds You Tonight

The sun has gone down, and the noise of the day is finally quiet enough for you to hear the fear underneath it. You are terrified that if you stop moving, the whole structure will collapse and everyone will see the fraud behind the mask.

But listen — the light does not require your performance to stay lit. There was a woman once who stood behind Jesus weeping, wiping his feet with her hair, and he turned to her accusers and said, 'Where are they?

Has no one condemned you?' When she said no, he replied, 'Then neither do I condemn you.' The verdict you fear from the world has already been dismissed by the one who matters most. You do not have to hold the roof up tonight.
