You Are the Light Behind the Glass
The sun has dipped below the line, and now the glass has turned into a mirror. You see a face staring back that feels unfamiliar, a stranger wearing your skin after a long day of performing okayness.
It is a quiet panic to feel disconnected from your own reflection, as if the person in the window is someone you no longer know. But listen — the light did not leave when the mask slipped.
It was there before the performance began, and it remains now that the acting has stopped. The kingdom is inside of you, not in the image on the glass.
You are not the shadow staring out; you are the light that makes the shadow visible. The day is done, and you are allowed to simply be.
