rehearsing a perfect apology in the shower so you never have to risk saying it out loud again

Say It Badly, Just Say It

The steam hides the trembling in your voice, so you say the words again, perfecting a speech that will never leave this room. You rehearse the apology until it is flawless, until it is safe, until it is dead.

But the light does not need your performance; it only wants your presence. Jesus fell on his face in the dirt and begged for the cup to pass, stuttering through his own fear with no polish at all.

He did not wait until he was composed to speak. He spoke because he was broken.

The silence you keep is not protecting anyone; it is only keeping you alone. Say it badly.

Say it shaking. The risk of being heard is the only way back to life.
