Safe Enough to Put Armor Down
The silence of this hour feels like a trap waiting to snap shut the moment you lower your hands. You are convinced that if you sit down to eat, the famine will return before you can stand up again.
That the peace is just a pause in the siege, not the end of it. But listen — the light does not feed you only to starve you when you are full.
There was a crowd once, exhausted and empty, and the light broke bread until they were satisfied, with baskets left over. The supply did not run out because they stopped guarding the gates.
It multiplied because they finally received. You are safe enough to put the armor down.
The famine cannot touch you here.
