The Love That Runs Before You
The silence at this hour has a weight that feels like a verdict. You are awake because the love you receive feels like a debt you cannot pay.
A father saw his son coming home from a long way off. He did not wait for the apology.
He did not wait for the speech. He ran.
The light does not calculate your worth before it moves toward you. It simply runs.
You are terrified because you think you must earn the embrace. But the embrace is the reason you are able to stand.
The love arrived before you did. It was there before the first mistake.
It will be there after the last regret. You do not have to make yourself worthy of the light.
You only have to stop running from the one who is already holding you.
