the guilt of seeing a missed call notification and knowing you will never call back because the voice you owe them feels like it belongs to a stranger

Rest Before You Fix The Connection

The screen lights up with a name you know by heart, yet the thought of hearing that voice feels like speaking to a stranger. You let it go to voicemail, not because you don't care, but because the silence feels safer than the distance you feel inside.

The guilt sits heavy in your chest, a stone you carry as the day exhales into night. But listen — the light does not demand a performance you cannot give tonight.

It knows the gap between who you were and who you are right now, and it does not condemn you for the silence. There is a peace that waits for you to simply stop moving, to put the phone down and let the armor fall.

You do not have to fix the connection before you are allowed to rest. The love that holds you is stronger than any missed call, and it will still be there when the morning comes.
