The Light Sees Behind Your Mask
The screen glows bright in the morning light, but the silence on the other end is heavy. You are reading words that feel alive to you, knowing they are dead to the one who wrote them.
It is a lonely kind of performance, keeping a conversation going with a ghost while the world expects you to be ready for the day. You smile at your coworkers, you answer the emails, you wear the mask of someone who is fine.
But inside, you are still waiting for a notification that will not come. The light sees behind the mask.
It knows you are talking to someone who isn't there. You do not have to delete the thread to be whole.
You do not have to pretend the silence doesn't hurt. The truth is that the love you poured into those messages was never wasted.
It was real. It remains real.
The light does not ask you to stop grieving the empty side of the conversation. It only asks you to notice that you are not actually alone in the room.
The voice you are listening for is already speaking, not from the past, but from within the quiet you are trying to fill.
