re-reading the last message they sent you and hating yourself for the specific lie you told in reply

The Light Sees Beneath Your Mask

The screen glows, and you are reading the words you sent an hour ago. You see the lie clearly now—the small performance you crafted to make yourself look okay, to keep the mask in place while your insides were crumbling.

You hate yourself for it. The gap between who you are and who you pretended to be feels like a canyon.

But listen. The light does not hate you for wearing the mask.

It sees the face beneath it. There is a truth that lives inside you, and it will be with you forever.

That truth is not the lie you typed. It is the quiet, trembling thing underneath that wanted to be seen but was too afraid.

The light is already there, in the shame of the sent message, waiting for you to stop performing and just breathe. You do not have to delete the past to be held in the present.
