Grace Sitting in Your Mess
The room is quiet now, but your mind is still loud with that one second. You replay the crack in your voice, the moment the control slipped, and you imagine everyone else is still talking about it.
But the house is settling. The world has moved on.
Even the light itself once fell with its face to the ground, overwhelmed with sorrow, asking for the cup to pass. It knows what it feels like to be unable to hold the line.
There is a voice inside you that says, 'Do not weep and do not grieve,' because grace is entirely with you right now. It is not waiting for you to be composed.
It is sitting with you in the mess of your own humanity. The light does not need your performance to be present.
It was there before the crack, and it is here in the silence after.
