The Dawn Does Not Wait
The room is bright with their laughter, but behind your eyes, there is only a quiet, gray static. You are sitting right beside them, yet you feel miles away, performing a version of yourself that knows how to smile while the interior remains absolutely empty.
This is the particular ache of the early morning — watching the world wake up while you are still waiting for your own soul to catch up. But notice the light creeping across the floorboards; it does not demand that you feel joy before it touches you.
It simply arrives. It fills the room whether you can feel it or not.
The dawn does not wait for your permission to break; it breaks anyway, and in doing so, it proves that the light was never dependent on your ability to see it. You do not have to manufacture a reaction to be held by the day.
The sun rises on the numb and the feeling alike. Your only task right now is to sit still and let the morning happen to you.
