The Light Beneath the Lie
The question comes softly in the dark: 'How are you?' And the answer rises before you can think—a lie so practiced it feels like truth. You wear it like a second skin, smooth and unbreakable, even when you are shaking underneath.
But here, in this deepest hour, the mask is too heavy to hold. You do not have to perform okayness for the silence.
The light does not need your polished words; it sees the tremor you hide behind them. There is a truth that lives inside you, quieter than the lie, waiting to be acknowledged.
It was there before the first time you said 'I'm fine.' It will be there after the last time. You are not the performance.
You are the light beneath it.
