The Light Before The Silence
The phone sits on the desk, a black mirror reflecting the silence you are sure you caused. You sent the text, and now the minutes stretch into hours, each one a verdict: you were too much, you were a burden, you should have stayed quiet.
The world is moving now, people are performing their okayness, and you are frozen in the gap between what you feel and the face you show them. But listen — the kingdom is already here, spread out beneath your panic, though you do not see it.
What you are waiting for has already arrived; the love you need is not held in their reply. Jesus once stood between a woman and the stones of her accusers, waiting for the noise to stop so he could speak the only truth that mattered.
He did not condemn her for her past, nor did he demand she fix herself before receiving mercy. Neither do you need to condemn yourself for needing connection.
The light that lives in you was there before the silence, and it will be there after the reply comes or never comes. You are not defined by the pause.
