The Light Meets You Exhausted
The phone lights up on the table, and your stomach drops before you even read the name. You know exactly what that message demands: a version of you that is composed, capable, and ready to perform.
But right now, in this long middle of the day, that version feels like a costume you simply cannot put on again. The light sees you staring at the screen, paralyzed by the gap between who you are and who they need you to be.
And it whispers the truth that cuts through the dread: you do not have to summon a new self to be held. The Father's light is already inside the exhausted you, not the performed you.
It lived in Jesus when he was tired, and it lives in you now, in this exact moment of depletion. You are not required to manufacture strength to be worthy of love.
The light does not wait for you to get your act together; it sits with you in the silence of the notification you are too afraid to open. Close your eyes for just a breath.
The version of you that exists right now — the one with nothing left to give — is the only version the light requires.
