The Silence Is A Holding
The phone buzzes in your pocket—a ghost of a notification, a split-second jolt of hope that someone has finally reached out. You reach for it, heart lifting, only to find the screen dark.
The silence crashes back down, heavier than before. You walk into the office, into the meeting, into the day wearing the mask that says you are fine, that you are not waiting for a call that isn't coming.
But the light sees behind the performance. It knows the ache of the empty pocket.
It does not ask you to stop hoping; it simply sits with you in the disappointment. There is a love present that does not need to ring to be real.
The silence is not an absence. It is a holding.
