The Kingdom Is Not A Notification
The phone buzzes in your pocket, or maybe it doesn't, but your hand is already reaching for it before your brain catches up. You unlock the screen to find silence where you hoped for a reply to the long text you sent—the one where you explained too much, justified too hard, tried to control the narrative of how they see you.
The mask is heavy this morning, the performance of being 'okay' while your chest tightens with every minute of silence. You are waiting for their validation to tell you that you are still worthy, still loved, still safe.
But the light does not live in their reply. It lives in the quiet space between your thumb and the glass.
Thomas said what you have been looking for has already come, but you do not recognize it because you are staring at a black screen. The kingdom is not a notification.
It is the breath you are holding right now, waiting to be released. You can put the phone down.
The silence is not a rejection. It is simply a moment where you get to remember that you were whole before they typed a single word.
