The Light Beneath the Mask
The party is over, the house is quiet, and you are standing in the bathroom staring at a face that feels like a stranger's. You scrub your skin as if the memory of being seen could be washed away with water and soap.
But the grime you feel isn't on the surface—it's the ache of having performed all night while your soul stayed hidden in the dark. Listen closely: there is light within a person of light, and it lights up the whole world.
That light was there before the mask went on, and it is still there beneath the exhaustion you are trying to scour off. You do not need to clean yourself to be worthy of the dawn.
The one who sees you in this raw, unfiltered moment does not turn away from the tired eyes in the mirror. Bring forth what is within you, even if it is just the quiet admission that you are weary.
What you bring forth will save you, not the face you show the world.
